Conclusion

Since learning four years ago that one is able to grow bananas as perennials in Atlanta, GA, I am ‘hooked’. In my opinion no other plant species provides that kind of fast success when trying to add a tropical look to your garden. While I had tremendous success with my bananas so far, there are still many things to do - I need to get a better handle on growing Musa velutina as well as Musa ‘Rajapuri’ and I also need to improve my propagation techniques with suckers. I would also like to learn more about other potentially ‘Atlanta-hardy’ Musa species. For example, how does Musa cheesmani (Another link), grow in a zone 7b climate?
